Good. Really enjoyed the session on RSS and will make a lot of use of Google Reader for myself. Have found these sessions useful for the conversations and also the introduction of new applications - lots of new apps to explore now such as mindomo, voicethread and pageflakes. Thanks Mark, Cynthia and Petty!

I have found his day and the whole course extremely enlightening and thought provoking. The opportunity to hear professional discussion from enthusiastic and quality people has been invaluable. The opportunity for 'hands on' experimentation has also been invaluable.
The only negative from the course was the amount of information and web opportunities that exist is far beyond the realm of a 4 day inservice course. It would be extremely beneficial to continue these inservice opportunities but extend them even further for staff from our schools. Had we been aware of the focus of the course from the start, we may have targetted other staff to become involved.

Most useful was RSS and 'Show & Tell'. Today has given me plenty of ideas on how I can use RSS and blogs. Vince's new school website has given me an idea that I would like to setup a blog that teachers can post ideas to on PD sessions. It would be used to provide feedback and inform whole staff on what PD has been done, what implications it has for the school or faculty in general etc. We could then use RSS feed to push this to staff so that they are encouraged to read it.

I think continuing these sessions for next year would be great. Focus on keeping us abreast of emerging technologies that could be useful to school leaders.

Will work with John Coppola to develop my blog as I'm not confident that I can handle this on my own just yet.

Thanks for the effort I know you guys put into these sessions. Love ya!

Cheers- Simon.

1. The practical nature of elements of the course I felt were the most of use.
2. The presenters were very patient and looked to expand our use of mant=y tools in Web 2.0
3. The variety of experiences were diverse.
4. Our limited access to mac computers initially limited our first session but has improved as we had more access to a better computer.

The day was once again a good opportunti to both learn and share ideas in relation to the latest technologies that we can apply in our schools. As a leader it has provided me with a great deal of "food for thought" to take back to the school as we prepare for the 1:1 initiative and has clarified my thoughts on where we need to be heading if we are to be successful.
As a teacher, it has provided me with the chance to "try" some new appications and in turn given me more ideas to take back to my classroom. I am enjoying "playing" with some of these new web based products and look forward to continuing this with my classes and the rest of the staff.
I appreciate the opportunity to learn about all of this and hope that I can continue the momentum.

Ways of reviewing information was helpful, but I don't think I will remember this without using it! then again this is the problem. I believe that point of need inservice is best this is not my need. I see the need for devlop the web 2 tools and now have a plan for the introduction of this at a school level. Looking at the different tools was great the challenge now is to link them to pedagogy and in classroom practise.
Thank you for your hard work and devlopment of today's program

Very useful in geting up to speed with web 2 sites. We need to be at least aware of what students are doing or can do.

It would probably be good to meet at some stage next year after the commencement of 1:1 to discuss how things are going and again to be brought up to speed with the latest happenings.

1. I really found RSS an interesting concept and this will clearly grow in the years to come. It will be an effective reseasrch tool, es[pecially for senior students.
2. I personally was already aware of the need for whole school approach to Information Literacy although there were some good web sites.
3. No I think the resources should now go to the areas of greatest need which is the classroom teacher.

In terms of reflecting on what I have done since the last day, I am pleased to say that I have done three of the four suggested activities. I spend time each week doing professional reading on Technology and education - most recently on Web 2.0 as well as, dare i say it, Web 3.0. As I am undertaking further study in the area of IT I have to keep reading and it is great because it reinforces what I already think as well as giving me new ideas.
In terms of podcasts I subscribe to quite a few, both professional and personal, and have used these with my senior SOR class. I have been working with a teacher from another school as well and we have done some joint work with our classes around these podasts - next step is to make my own for my Year 12s as means of revision.
I was lucky enough (due to my kind hearted boss) to attend the iNET conference last week in Melbourne and heard a lot of good speakers talking in a way that was useful for us as educators today. One point a wise man (our former director) made was that we need to stop talking about the "schools of the future" and start making this a reality of the "schools of today" - this made a lot of sesnse and given me food for thought as to where we need to be "now" as opposed to in the "future".
I continue to dialofue with my colleagues about what we are doing and how we can improve it - my message always being centred on what is best for the students and are we meeting their needs.
So I will finish by leaving you with my catchphrase for all we do:
"It's all about learning".
