I realised after today just how far out of date I was since 2006. The situation has changed so much, especially with Web 2.0, that I did not know what I did not know. I found the day very interesting and a real challenge to me. That is why I am putting this comment on the blog rather than on paper.
I am looking forward to catching up in coming weeks so that I am a little more fluent next session.
Mark, Cynthia and Petty worked well together and the day went quite quckly. I feel even more confident now as I think I know a bit more about what I don’t know. I am really looking forward to the next session when we will do some more practical stuff.

Very good intro/overview of current happenings
Good to share with others
What I need now is time to “fiddle” and find my way around the different web pages etc.

The most useful aspect was being able to work as a team and know that we are all working from the same base. It allowed us to share ideas and come up with common goals for the project.
I was impressed with the introduction to Web 2.0 – as i have done some reading on this, but the presentation allowed me to see the possible out of what I assumed was probably beyond me. I will aim to use this not only at the leadership level, but also in my classroom teaching.
I would have to say that there wasn’t really anything that wasn’t useful – as discussion and examples given were all beneficial and practical.
For Day 2 I am looking forward to trialling some of the Web 2.0 materials to give me confidence to branch out and use them

The educational discussion that occurred at the start of this course was both enlightening and informative. There is a great deal of value in keeping up to date with the latest innovations and ensuring that we are in step with our students.
Whilst the agenda for day 2 is valuable, it may be more appropriate for MacArthur schools who are movinbg to 1:1 next year. It would be useful to look in more detail at the creation of blogs and wikis and how these can be used with staff who do not have the 1:1 focus high as a priority.

1.
* It was very beneficial to “discuss” with other participants ideas on 1:1 laptop projects.
* It was quite an eye opener to hear about the large number of opportunities in web 2.0
2.
* It is important to have up to date readings (eg 2001 is now dated).
3.
Develop skills on blogging and wikis.
Thanks
